Students who successfully complete The Advance Track may submit their courses to Master's Divinity School for consideration towards fulfilling requirments for a degree in Biblical Counseling. Students work closely with Gateway staff and Master's Divinity School's Admissions department to determine the appropriate level. The courses are divided into four modules. Each module is 10 weeks long. The courses combine live classroom interaction (lectures, discussions, role play) with distance learning concepts such as recorded lectures and writing assignments. The classes meet one day a week for two hours. |
Students must complete a core curriculum and a practicum. The required courses are:
Introduction to Counseling Theology
The Biblical Foundation for Self-Awareness
Counseling From James (Level A only)
Fundamentals of Biblical Counseling
Topics in Biblical Counseling
The Biblical Basis For Counseling Required reading: Biblical Counseling Practicum
Note: All require reading books may be purchased from the Gateway
Biblical Counseling Training Center Bookstore.
Professional Information: The core counseling curriculum at Gateway may satisfy Master's Divinity School's requirements for a degree. In some cases, additional courses may be necessary. Graduation and other administative fees will apply. Gateway does not prepare people for state or national qualifications or licensure, as our belief is that Biblical counseling is a ministry of the church, rather than a profession license by the state.
